Best/favourite commentator?

Alan Green.

I love it when he says "WE" when commentating on England games,
Love his impartial views and how he never slags off refs, the FA,club owners, fans, directors, etc etc etc etc..........................
Heard him on the dippers/Lille game creaming his pants at some shite football.........

First Class T**T

Oh and who was it the other night when rags played AC?Rooney ballooned one over the bar and it was "SENSATIONAL" oh dear oh dear.................

Gerald Sinstadt=Legend

Not really a commentator, but for me it has to be the legend that is Stuart Hall. Post-match summaries always worth waiting for on Five Live - has an ability to articulate events in a way no other broadcaster seems capable. Even the dreariest of no score draws are described with the most colourful language.

Oh yeah, and he's a Blue. Top bloke - nuff said!

^^^^^100% this^^^^^

On another point.....Andy Gray please remove your head from your arse!

I think Martin Tyler is probably the best. I loved Gerald Sinstadt but probably only because he always reminded me of being about 8 years old. The one on ESPN is ok and some of the lesser ones are ok on Sky and BBC but I don't really know which one is called what. I cannot stand Alan Parry, Tyldsley, Motson or Alan Green. And in my opinion apart from Joe Royle and possibly Alan Smith, most of the good old pros who co-commentate, talk a great big load of poo, particularly on BBC. Mark Lawrenson and David Platt being amongst the absolute worst.

I agree with Martin Tyler, if i remember correctly he did the 10-1 against Huddersfield??

Obviously Cheesy on GMR, a proper blue.

A little mention to Ally Mann, did the city videos for quite few years, now gets the odd go on Match of the Day.

Can't stand Tyldsley, or any of the ITV bunch.

Everything he says seems to be a soundbite or attempt at a whitty comment, especially after goals or important incidents. 'Remember the name, Wayne Roooonnnneeeey!" that was him, he knew that clip would be played again and again in the future and it'll have his voice of wisdom connected with it.

They're all trying too hard to get their own "They think it's all over...it is now" moment.

Brian Moore, Hugh Johns. The worst by a mile is Tyldsley. "He's behind you" new catchphrase annoys the fuck out of me.....

i like martin tyler and andy gray. you know its a big match when they commentate on it although i think gray chats absolute shite.

I think Martin Tyler is one of the best.

Worst for me is David Fkin Pleat, hate him.

Used to like Brian Clarke he commentated on all City's games on Piccadilly Radio when it was just Piccadilly Radio, Brian was a crap commentator but was great entertainment value, far better than Tom Tyrell who use to cover all the rags games for the same station.

I remember dear old Brian commentating on City away to Oxford, a 0-0 draw in our relegation season of 1986/7. Throughout the entire match, he referred to Oxford as Derby County. Quality - they don't make them like that any more! :)

Brian Clarke do you remember when he used to say " go go gio go"

Cant stand Motson!!! He cant pronounce any of the foreign players names correctly!! He calls Drogba, Drogbaaaaaar! Like he has an R on the end of it!! Thats just one of them!

Motty as the tossers at BBc call him is a complete cock with his stupid little laugh.Thought we had got rid on this Wanker but he appears to be back..

Best one I reckon is Jonathan Pearce, usually unbiased and I used to love his Soccer Night Programme on 5 a few years back, used to talk a lot of sense.

Worst one is Tyldsley can't stand him no matter what game he is commentating on he never fails to mention the rags it really gets on my nerves.

The thought of that horrible Alan Green and Alan Parry commentating together makes me feel sick.

yeah got three, barry interesting very interesting davis, brian moore and david coleman, i love the way he always emphasised the scoreline first on every goal,
great memories.
