I like something a bit less mastubatory, like Aztec Camera's "Walk out to winter".
Roddy Frame and Johnny Marr are my two guitar heroes. But each to their own.

Good choice less fret wanking and more artistry
My favourite solos are something by the beatles, the intro to little wing by jimi Hendrix, killing moon by echo and the bunnymen and the solo on summer breeze by the Isley brothers
