Tracked down the Gilmour solo on the Waters show as suggested earlier. Good, but doesn't blow me away like the CD version. Had never heard Maggot Brain before - fantastic.

Yes. For some reason the Phenomenon studio version does it more than live.

I only go to Strangers for my UFO fix, so I've not heard it. Will have a look.

Love the YouTube clip of gilmour doing that solo at earls court with waters recently.

I've also been trying to think of any Lifeson solos which spring to mind -there must be loads, but I do like the understated one in Limelight. Also Rothery ones - unbeliveably atmospheric playing on most Marillion stuff.

Very very similar likes to my own!
Rothery love Chelsea Monday and, Grendel - amongst many others, some great playing on clutching at straws too.
Lifeson, the solo towards the end of Between the Wheels (studio) is a killer.

Funnily enough I just ordered another vinyl copy of it on Ebay as my original has developed a crack on it.
