Best Headed Goals in History

One of the best headers I've seen was Borgetti for Mexico against Italy at the 2002 WC. Not a bullet header but technically so difficult to pull off. The replay shows how he is running diagonally across the goal then redirects the ball to the other corner, the timing to crane his neck round and glance it perfectly over the keeper is incredible. Leaves Buffon totally stranded. Nine times out of ten gets nowhere near but it's clearly deliberate and he executes it to perfection. Definitely up there for me.

Indeed, great goal and very good description.

I admire intelligent strikers.

The best headerer (sp) of a ball of I've seen in my lifetime has to be Bierhoff. The power he used to generate off them was crazy. It was as if he got a buzz out of doing it, the same way Roberto Carlos would take a freekick.

Good grief, I remember Bierhoff!

Just below an all time great, but very consistent! Yeah, he was superb in the air. Might as well have stuck a boot on his forehead!

Falcao was incredible at scoring headed goals. Best ever and some of the diving headers be scored were outrageous.

Dave Watson, Mick McCarthy and Vinny. Proper headed goals. Blessed to have seen them all.
