I’ll put it on this thread as a lot of routines are from musicals. If people know any brilliant musical performances at things like award shows and anniversary concerts, things like that I’d love to know what they are

I watched Ron Moody do reviewing the situation at the 1985 Royal variety on YouTube a few weeks ago, god knows how old he must’ve been but it was brilliant. Phantom of the opera/music of the night 1988 Tony awards and Michael Crawford music of the night 1991 Tony awards are also very good

Im not sure which movie it was in but is was Fred Astaire, no surprise there, dancing and teeing off at the same time, such brilliant timing.

Indeed you are correct sir, it was Donald O’Connor my sincere apologies. There was a recent programme on BBC 4 on musicals and it was absolutely brilliant, hope you saw it, if not am sure it’s on iPlayer. Thanks for the correction.

The legend that is Sammy Davis Jr, all round entertainer indeed, could sing, love Mr Bojangles but this routine is just brilliant.

Just unbelievable I can only compare this with watching our blues dance around the opposition over and over again, talent that will never ever be surpassed in any lifetime.

Ginger Rogers put Fred Astsire to shame! She did the same dances as he did but she did them backwards!!! :-)
