Best Karate / Kung Fu film

36th Chamber of Shaolin. Closely followed by Eight Diagram Pole Fighter. Any 70's Shaw Brothers though are quality. My favorite title however is "Master of the Flying Guillotine". Great film also!

You'll never see a more batshit mental film of any genre that the early Jackie Chan classic 'Drunken Master'.

2 of the earliest Martial Arts films I saw at the pictures were King Boxer and The New One Armed Swordsman. Both were before Bruce Lee became famous and I think brought Martial Arts films to a mainstream audience.(I'm sure they were also done by Shaw Brothers)
The only thing I can remember about them(40 years ago don't forget)is that one of the tough guys was completely bald at the front, had long flowing hair at the back, and used to show how hard he was by throwing wooden benches in the air and then destroy them by head butting them.
