When we got relegated at Stoke to take us into the third tier of English Football that’s one of the songs we ended up singing in our local. 3rd May 1998, my 39th birthday and @blue b4 the moon 35th birthday (I think). The rags in our local couldn’t believe what they were witnessing, we had a right old sing song. I won £500 that day on the football, I said to the girl behind the bar “get everyone a drink”, meaning our little supporters club, she came back with “That’s £72 Hammo”, I said 15 drinks at less than £2 a pint (at the time)? “. She said “I thought you meant everyone in the pub”!

The reality kicked in on the Monday morning, it was tough being a Blue in those days but fuck me I’ve got the best set of Blue friends from back then.
