Best place/hotel to stay for the final, and best pubs to drink (not the Torch)

Anyone been to beaconsfield pre match?
What's that like?
I live a mile or so from Beaconsfield. Not much around the New Town where the train station is. Best bet there is the Beech House, apart from that there are a few smaller bars. 4 or 5 pubs in the Old Town but you are looking at a 20 min. walk from the station.

Cheers. Anywhere that is close and sells beer will suffice.

Hillingdon is decent on the Metropolitan Line - Ickenham an alternative in that area.

At Hillingdon theres a decent pub by the station called The Swallow thats worth popping in to for beer/food. You can also use Just Park to book parking on someones drive in this area too.
We are in Hillingdon... Red Lion Hotel
8 of us now, originally 10

Will have to cancel the 5th twin room with breakfast and free parking if I can't fill it by Wednesday

Driving down. What's a good station to park and get a train to Wembley for the last few miles?
Watford junction has a huge car park. Other than that, best of looking at Just Park (was park on my drive) and putting in tube stations north of Wembley on either the Metropolitan or Jubilee line.
Metropolitan if you come down the M40 or Jubilee if you come down the M1.

Metropolitan would be stations like Uxbridge, Amersham, Harrow on the Hill and, likely the best one, Hillingdon.

Jubilee you’d be looking at Stanmore, Canons Park, Queensbury and Kingsbury.

As a side note, I can’t understand why ALL Avanti trains don’t stop at Watford Junction on the way down and back, when there’s a game at Wembley, especially one involving a team from the North West.

I went to the Euston Tap right outside station last year which if the weather is good is a decent option.

If you want some traditional London pubs then the area around Goodge Street tube is good in Fitzrovia.

You can see where all these are in relation to Euston station on the map. You can get the tube direct to Wembley Park from Euston Square which you can also see on the map. 15/20 min walk to pub area from Euston then 10 mins to Euston Square.

Loads of good pubs around there and kings cross nowadays.. Euston Flyer and Euston rocket are popular with City usually

I was there last season as well. great little spot for people watching

Room gone now, 10 of us now
Stayed there for the semi final and final last year. Called into the chip shop across the road and took it into the beer garden under the patio heaters after the final. Nice hotel but its as good as doubled the price this year so we've gone to the premier inn at Rickmansworth this time. Need to find a City boozer on the way into Wembley now.
