Alri' Ladies and Gents!

I have just booked flights for the Villa match, am assuming tickets won't be a problem. This is my first City match at COMS so I am fukn happy out.

Next issue is where to stay. I am coming over with a mate ... (Villa fan - *spit*) ... what are the good hostels/hotels?

Any recommendations for bevvies after for me disappointed Villa mate?

Lastly ... any of ye here couchsurfers? CouchWha?

That would be cool too ... but we will be going on the piss after the match.

Cheers ...

I went to my first match at COMS this time last year, have already been back once more and planning the next one. I love the Ibis on Portland Street, short walk to many places of interest and very close to Piccadilly. Also liked Ramada on the same street which is a little closer to Piccadilly but not quite as good standard of accommodation. I like the pubs in that area for sinking piss, there are quite a few cheap ones. For you I'd recommend Mary D's before and after but not for your Villa mate. Enjoy the game.

Any of the hotels on portland street. I do stay in the Ibis most.

Make sure you go to Mary D's for a prematch drink, does be good atmosphere
(make sure your mate doesnt have his jersey on show in there).

Id try sort your ticket before you get there, you need to have accesscard/Citycard to enter the stadium.

Are you going to be our official guide in May?

'official' always scares d'shit outta me. BUT I have tickets, I will FOR SURE take the whole lot of ye on a drinking session ...

I have to say know ... if ye can ... come for TUESDAY night ... a local boozer here does €2 pints on tuesday (after 5) ... it is organised mayhem. Loadsa security, but that just keeps the sloppy cnuts out.

That is £1.70 a pint right! £1.70!

I don't go that much anymore (too much - but for CL games it is a must.

Where abouts is this? Id know the odd Thursday night €3 a drink, but €2 would be the business.

We stay at the Ancoates Travelodge.
About 5 mins dander to City Centre, 25 mins to CoMS.
Beer is shit but good pub across the road and a couple for later in the night, just round the corner. Kebab a few doors down and bring it back for early hours of the morning pissy beer in the hotel.
Double bed and pull out in the rooms and sometimes you can get a room for £29.
Does the job and they don't mind a bit of early hours singing.
For the younger guys in our club, there isn't a Saturday goes by when there isn't at least one Hen Party staying.

Sports City travelodge is better. You get a lock in at the Nags Head as well.Staying at the Central Travel Lodge for the first time on Thursday and Sports City for the Villa game on Wednesday. You can get Sports City for £32.50 for the Villa game.
