That’s mostly nonsense to be honest. He’d score for absolute fun in any of the City teams of the last 10 years. He was on a different planet in his prime to Edin. He also only played for the best team in the league for one season. In reality that team wasn’t as good at the scum team that year in terms of quality or chances they created. His brilliance took a very workmanlike team to the title.

He also had 2 really big injuries that stopped him scoring 300 premier league goals. The major injury at Newcastle took his pace away so he had to adjust his game and become more of a target man despite not being particularly tall. Before that injury he scored plenty of goals where he sprinted through. He also worked the flanks and was a great crosser of a ball. For the rest of his career he couldn’t do that.

Best players I have probably seen live though in the Prem/ Ist div were Chris Waddle tearing a young Mike Wuigkey apart on a Weds night? Ille Djmitrescu in the 5-2 and Berbatov pretty much every time we faced Spurs at home.

Waddle was fantastic to watch. Remember him playing at Maine Road when miles past his peak but still doing things very few players could

I was about to ask why no Aguero or Merlin but thats a formidable team right there. Merlin for Lamps for more creativity in tight spaces and a pure joy to watch and Aguero for Shearer because he was just better.

It is tough, love the little Argie but what Shearer did with an average Rovers and half decent Newcastle teams was outstanding. He did it for a long time as well.

Silva fair point it tough who to leave out. Ah decisions decisions :-)
