Best player from our doldrums years (1980 to roughly 2009)

When Peter Reid signed as a player he was fantastic despite looking like he was in his sixties. I am still perplexed by how he managed to get forward and score at Villa. Not seen Uwe mentioned yet. He was not the best but he was great and really got the club.

Ali Benarbia for me - in his prime he would be a real Pep player. His passing, vision and ability was absolutely incredible. What a manager KK was for us bringing him in and I'll never forget his debut it was perfection.

I also think Andy Morrison was one of the most important signings we ever made. He turned the club around and I can't think of any other player who's had such a massive impact for us - literally that one signing pushed us from 12th(?) in Div 1 to the PL in a couple of seasons.

Finally, The Goat - a dreadful player who could only do one thing which was score goals. He rarely scored a perfectly hit shot but whether it came off his left shin, arse, dick or whatever he just knew where the goal was. I still think The Goat would push Haaland's stats if he was around today :)

Peter Reid must of picked up one of the pills I dropped that day at Villa Park
