Best player from our doldrums years (1980 to roughly 2009)

Francis for pure quality, Kinky for getting me out of my seat.

I loved Lakey and thought he absolutely had the talent to go to the top but my biggest regret (possibly off topic, I accept) is Michael Johnson not fulfilling his potential. I thought he was going to be a fantastic player, very much in the KDB mould, a combination of balance, technique and power!!

Used to like David Phillips. Scored some cracking goals for us in the mid 80s, including the first against Charlton in the 5-1. A shout out for Paul Simpson, also, another scorer in that game.

And we swapped him for Perry ****** Suckling! Probably our best player in exchange for Carlo Nash and Jimmy Savilles love child. This piece of business was up there with anything Swales ever did(or should that be down there)

Highest quality: Benarbia, Elano and Elk.

Players who got me off my feet, grinning from ear to ear and wanting to go to the game: Gio, Benarbia, SWP and Elano.

Players whose attitude I loved: Power, McNab, Curle, Hendry, Andy Morrison, Uwe and SWP.

Probably a few I have missed out.

Since 2008, I have one clear favourite: David Silva.

Even up to today, Kinkladze is technically the best player ever to pull on our shirt, I would put him at the same level as Messi, Ronaldo and Maradona.

Sadly he was an utter waster, bad attitude, lazy and unprofessional.

He would rather have gone out with Nicholas Summerbee and get shitfaced everynight than work hard and become what should have been one of the all time greats.

Ederson has just about overtaken Coton for me but TC was an outstanding goalkeeper and what a character.

TC was my childhood hero. Still have him up on a pedestal. My brother in law got me a cameo birthday message from him for my 40th and the room must have been a bit dusty because I definitely had something in my eye.

Spot on. Used to sit in the North Stand and TC just exuded this confidence/arrogance that he couldn’t be beaten. How he never played for England (Swales shenanigans aside) is criminal.

The best ever keeper I have seen in a one on one situation, he was simply magnificent, he terrified the opponent because they knew even if they beat him will skill they would be taken out big time.

I loved Petrov, really good player. He’s not wrong though, he was a right moody fucker and pretty frustrating.

Petrov was one proper moody *ucker.

Moody and possibly the softest player to ever wear our colours. When he was annoyed with a teammate on the pitch it would seemingly take him an age to get over it.
