The real Ronaldo would arguably have gone down as the greatest player in history if he hadn’t got those injuries.
He’s still the best striker I’ve ever seen.
He was a natural finisher. Before his first bad injury at 23, he’d scored 230 goals for club and country. They are Haaland-level numbers, and well above Messi and CRonaldo.
But not only did he score goals, he had the skill and dribbling ability of Messi and athleticism and speed of CRonaldo. He was truly incredible, and the world was robbed of arguably the greatest ever due to injuries.
He barely played a game for three years after that first injury. But then turned up to the 2002 World Cup and scored more goals in one tournament than most players who manage to play in about four tournaments.
