None.
The ones classed as good were good about fifteen years ago but they’re not moving with the times. Lots of good music has come out and how to access good music has changed in the time since all these jukeboxes were installed and none of them have any of it or seem to be run by people who’ve heard any of it.
There is a fucking hell of a lot more and better music come out in the last few years than Liam Gallagher’s juvenile efforts and Blossoms’ bland-band boogie. But it seems that jukeboxes only recognise those two as new music.
I’ve not heard a good jukebox anywhere for a long time now.
Depending on when you go in, there’s a certain fella who works in Troff who’ll put his decent playlists from his phone on the speakers.
Jukeboxes should be a thing of the past now anyway. Or at least be updated so they can be used differently.
Everyone has their music collection on their phones now. In my pocket, I have a much bigger and better music collection than any jukebox I’ve ever seen in Manchester. There should be some sort of app where people can access the jukebox pub’s speaker system and be able to queue their songs to a playlist.
