A few times that season we went down to 10 men and played the opposition off the park. Millwall at home (Benarbia) and Newcastle in the Cup (Dunne) who were a top Premierleague side at the time and we were very unlucky to end up on the losing side

One of two occasions where I’ve gone up in the united end at old trafford when City scored, the other being Silva’s in the 6-1. I was pretty much level with Brightwell when he ‘wellied it’. Couldn’t help myself (on each occasion!)

Hinchcliffe’s in the 5-1 was also an incredible goal.

For me, apart from winning trophies, going there and battering them is as good as it gets as a City fan.

I remember groaning when he hit it as it looked for all the world like it was going aimlessly behind for a goal kick and then running up and down the aisle like a mad man when it went in.

Absolutely amazing goal.

I’m the twat in the dark olivey green jacket to the left of the goal that lifts off what it nestled in the corner. Perfect view and not once from that angle did it look destined for anywhere other than the top corner!
