Best season since 77

How can you blame ADUG?

Because these fans didn't exist before them. I'm not saying they were bad for the club, I'm saying that the takeover has turned us into kunts.

Fuck me. Let's sack them off, become everyone's favourite second team because we laugh at how shit we are and fuck off where we belong.

Fuck that. Fans have a right to voice their opinion and if the team isn't fucking good enough let them have their say.

What should we as fans do? Accept under par performances?

No, quite rightly have a go at the performance. However, all of the Hughes Out/Mancini Out/Toure Out/Adebayor Out/Robinho Out/Dunne Out/Richards Out/Zab Out/Petrov Out/SWP Out/Barry Out/De Jong Out shit is pathetic.

You don't sack a manager because they haven't played well for three games.

Thats the point though Damocles, whilst I admire your approach to looking at the bigger picture, this isn't what most people are venting their frustration at. Whilst it HAS been a good season so far, under Mancini, we have now taken part in 4 very abject performances on the trot in the league, and an FA cup home tie for a place in the quarter finals thrown in their too. Whilst it was brave against the Rags, we still came up short and set up far too negatively AGAIN at Eastlands instead of going for the kill when we had the chance. Under Mancini, now hes starting to get the team playing how he seemingly likes to set-up, we really have looked poor for some time now, and thats whats grating on me. Im not asking for him to be sacked or hung, drawn and quartered, but it really isnt looking good for the rest of the season (based on a hell of a lot of recent football). Lets all hope for a positive response on Tuesday.

In my opinion, he isn't playing negatively at all, I think that's a bit of a misdemeanor. I think his problem, is that when we go one up, he slows down the play and tries to dominate the game in possession. Attack heavy until we score, then try and bully 9it into the net. Sometimes it works ala Pompey game (Ade goal), other times like today it doesn't.

The thing that's really frustrating for me, is how slow our tempo is after we go one nil up.

The thing that's really frustrating for me, is how slow our tempo is after we go one nil up.

Ireland was outstanding first 15 minutes when we were getting the ball forward quickly. All of a sudden we stopped and started fucking around with the ball allowing Joke to get back around the ball.

This type of play is not suited to playing against the likes of Joke who will chase and kick everything that moves.. what the top 4 have been doing for years is exactly what we did in the first 15 minutes and instead of slowing it down they up it and go all out for the second, effectively killing the game off, disheartening them so they won't chase or kick as much.

That will come, hopefully. Deep down we are a fine side. We just need that bit of belief.

I agree with that... Have to say though, Mancini has criticised our tempo as being too slow, so he is clearly not setting them out to play like that.

And today was the perfect example. We started brilliantly, playing to feet and that was obviously the plan. The way Mancini reacted at half time should tell anyone that he was not happy with the way the team abandoned the game plan and started hoofing it.

I think he is struggling to get them to consistently play the way he wants, and people are mistaking that for him telling them to play that way.

He's been in the job less than two months though, and has done a very good job in getting some structure into a team that was playing like a primary school team at times under Hughes.

That's the thing.

Under Hughes, we craved organisation to match our tempo, under Mancini we crave tempo to match our organisation.

We've got the hard bit right, it's just tweaking the setup to get the higher pace is needed. I wish that most people, who are saying that under Hughes we were more attacking, would go back through the forum and realise that everybody was then complaining that we played boring, long ball football.

Who the fuck are you? Everybody is welcome here.

Personally, I agree with the OP. Most 'City fans' have lost their heads, and forgot where we have come from.

Its this "head in the sand" type post which removes the whole idea behind what is a forum. Why on earth are we not allowed to display our distaste at such a pathetic showing, without having to be reminded where we came from?

Because you're sound like a spoilt, arrogant, imature little brat who wants his trophies and wants them NOW! Just because the players cost a lot and are on big wages it doesn't mean that we're going to piss everything straight away.Common sense dictates it's going to take time and patience. In short: fucking grow up.

Hahaha! A city fan who craves trophies now, probably the most laughable attempt at an insult that anyone has ever thrown at me. Have a word mate.

The great thing about online forums is they allow for instant reactions to a game,
The bad thing about online forums is they allow for instant reactions to a game,
Before the internet if you had just seen a shite game/display you could only really,
Kick the cat (didnt really solve anything just made the cat very nervous),
Tell your mates about it down the pub (who after a while would probably tell you shut the f**k up)
Write to a fanzine (by which time you would have had time to calm down) or if things got really bad go & shout at some shadows behind a window outside the main stand at maine road (didnt solve anything but made you feel better),
The reallity is unless we can find a manager who plays attacking entertaining football with a rock solid defence & a keeper who never even looks like making a mistake & we win every soddin game we play, things will stay the same.

Dont come on a fucking forum then after watching another 90 minutes of abject SHITE by a team which cost over 200million pounds to put together. So we should be fucking where we are in the league.

It wasn't even shite....just because we didn't win 3 or 4 nil. We controlled the whole game and were unlucky to only get a draw.
I also wish people would stop quoting this 200mil bollocks. Let's be honest, is that the REAL value of the players out there ? No..it's just what we ended up paying. Either way, it doesn't guarantee anything.

The insult was pointing out that your remarks are childish and lacking in any sense of perspective or understanding of football. Every City fan wants trophies but we don't all behave like pricks. Bit too subtle, eh?

welcome to seria A football. unlike watching spanish german or our own top league watching italian football has always been more practical/dull for me. once we get a goal up it seems to me that mancini wants the team to slow the tempo pass it around at the back and hope for a chance on the break. as english fans we are not happy with that and unfortunately we don't at the moment seem to have too many players capably of fulfilling that role. i want to give him time but ffs i'm 57 and not going to live forever. feeling pretty disparing at the moment but things can only improve. right? and quickly i hope

I don't think that slowing the tempo down when you're ahead is necessarily a bad tactic, it's just that right now it's a bad tactic for us, because we're crap at it. If you've ever played "keep away" (monkey-in-the-middle, whatever you call it...), where 3 or 4 players pass the ball around and one has to get it off them, you'll know that if the players have good control, move into space for each other, concentrate, and don't panic, there's no way the guy in the middle can get the ball. But if they don't do any one of these things and the guy in the middle chases them really hard for a bit, they invariably cough up the ball pretty fast. That's what I see City doing all the time - a bit of harrying from mediocre opposition and pretty soon we make a bad pass that's a bit short or off-line, leading to the next one being worse, until before long we lose the ball. I only get to see the games on TV so I miss the big picture, but it doesn't seem like we have enough players getting into space off the ball, which puts the player on the ball under pressure. The result is that he has to beat someone to make some space (very dangerous if you're a defender), or just hoof it upfield.

i'm so fucking sick of these 'where we have come from' posts! yes i like thousands others have done all the 2nd division away days and home shockers, we all know we were shit, i don't want to keep looking back at dark times, i want to look forward to GOOD TIMES, with the players/coaching staff we have/can afford!

Sometimes, watching drivel like that, we might as well be fucking skint, and fill the team with tryer's who will overachieve instead of over the hill/overpriced/can't be arsed twats!

There are too many arse-hats in the team. It is very annoying.
