Out in the car today, and this came up via the shuffle function on my mp3 player;

Now I now they've been shite for a long time now, and Bono has disappeared up his own arse (imagine; the lead singer of band being a pretentious twat. That's never happened, has it?), but their early stuff was pretty good and it was a cracking album. Belting intro.

Must admit, when I saw this thread reappear, this was the track that immediately came into my head.

As you said Jim, Bono has become a little nauseating but their early stuff was good and Unforgettable Fire and (especially) The Joshua Tree are fantastic albums.

"A little"? Just a bit! Anyway, you could also add "I still haven't found what I'm looking for" and "with or without you" off that album to the list of good song intros.
