I know this is a dogs thread but for anyone knowing anything about cats.
I posted earlier about waking up to find a dead cat in the back garden.
I didn't know whether it was our dog, who would be big enough, but outside his nature to inflict the crushing wound at the back of the shoulders and ribcage.
Also, I just don't know when he would have had the opportunity. I don't think a fox, and there is definitely a fox around, would be big enough to do it.
Somebody in work suggested it could have been hit by a car and made it's way into our garden and then collapsed.
Some gave evidence of this having happened to them. A cat scraped at their window and when my workmate opened it the cat came in and collapsed.
Is this likely cat behaviour?
It is conceivable an injured cat could have made it over the gate, but in shock, couldn't climb over the fence to get out.
Would a fox attack a young cat and then leave it there?
