Best ultras from Europe

German Ultras won´t even get close to Ultras in Poland, Greece, Serbia or Croatia, but lets give it a try anyway.
In my opinion the difference between the polish ultras and the Germans are like the difference between the good and bad of football..the polish take it to far with violence and racism the Germans just have a good time for the most part

this is exactly why I don't really like polish ultras.

As Ruhr said most Ultra groups like to stay independant from the club, so accepting money from them is not an option.

Same with sponsored flags for example...

Money is collected by selling Merchandise, CDs, organising Partys or bus/train trips.

There are often people from the various groups collecting donations at matchdays as well.

Other than that the majority of the material/flags/banners used is handmade and not bought from a company.

Its obviously ten times cheaper that way and working together on a Choreo is some sort of social event for the group as well (if a choreo works out great the feeling of pride is obviously a bit bigger as well if everything is handmade).

Don´t forget that Ultra is not just a matchday thing..its much more than that...a lifestyle basically and it gives the young folks something to do as well, other than hanging around on the street, selling drugs etc. Most of the groups have their own rooms/pubs and people gather there during the evenings as well to talk, listen to music and just have a good time.

@Ruhr: Thats one of my favourite choreos from a club ever. It doesnt look super fancy, but the level of detail and the message is what stands out.

Love how they even added the old FC banners that you could see in the Parkstadion. :)

Hey Bembeltown, out of curiosity I'm going to be out in the Rhineland the last week of August. Bayern is playing away at Freiburg on Tuesday 27 August - any suggestions as to the best way to score tickets? I'd have loved to see a match in Frankfurt but you guys are away on the 24th when I'll be in town there.

I'm guessing there will be a lot of those Bayern twats wanting in at Freiburg and it might be difficult without paying through the eyeballs. I'll do it if I have to - really want to take in some Fussball while I am over there.

hm, Freiburg is not exactly the Rhineland, but if you are really down there at the end of the world, it will be diffcult anyway. The Dreisam is such a small stadium

@der Bomber: As Ruhr said if you are in the Rhineland Area then Freiburg isn´t exactly around the corner. You would have to travel down to the Swiss border and getting tickets against Bayern will be almost impossible unless you are a member of the club (and even then you would have to compete with other members).

If you really are in the classical Rhineland Area then getting to Gladbach, Schalke, Leverkusen, Dortmund might be an option.

Or you could try your luck with Düsseldorf and Köln even though that's second division I am pretty sure you will be satisfied by the atmosphere as both clubs got great Arenas and a pretty big and enthusiastic following.

If you are in the Rhine-Main Area (basically Frankfurt) on the 24th you could try your luck and aim for Mainz 05. They are playing at home versus Wolfsburg. Getting tickets might be possible as Wolfsburg doesn't bring a lot of fans, so it might be worth a shot. Only drawback is that you have to endure 90 Minutes of Mainz fans and I would rather have my genitals slammed in an oven door than doing that voluntary.

Plan B is to just travel to Braunschweig with us....come on...you know you want to! ;)

Last time we met in the second division we had a lot of fun "up" there

Writing Polish with small and German with big letter, are you racist yourself, or just a usual, typical kind of ignorant? :)

First of all you should quote properly, because Bembeltown wrote nothing of that you put in his mouth.
