betfair in meltdown

i should add betfair have not paid out yet, noone knows whats going on.

at the start of the race the horse was 13/8
inrunning a lay appeared at 28s (horse was running fine) for 22m
if all that 22m gets matched

1. horses wins he pays out 22m x 28 = 616m
2. horse doesnt win he wins 22m

only 800k of his 22m was matched
800k x 28 = 22.4m

the horse won by about 4 lengths u could still back the horse when well clear up to the line at 28s

So he wins £22.4m plus his £21.2m that wasn't matched?

He has too much money anyway.

Hope they do pal that would be very nice, sounds like a def betfair problem & not some guy laying them odds..

If I was a betting man(which I am) 33/1 you get to keep the bet!

likewise cant see it being paid.
if it was a betfair error thou

1. why didnt they suspend the race once the error was made( rather then at the line)
2. if it was a cross matching malfunction why didnt then turn off cross matching and suspend inrunning for the rest of the day.

-- Wed Dec 28, 2011 5:16 pm --

sky sports now

someone put a lay of 22m on a horse at 29s inrunning (horse started race 2.9 2nd fav) left the lay all the way up to the line horse won, only around 800k was matched =22m payout.
if all the money was matched would have been around a 550m payout.
mmmm (scratching chin) i think you snatched post of the year at the last minute route46.Do you have any pics of naked women to make this post a classic thread.

Betfair just said they're not paying. Technical glitch.

Typical.

I might bet a grand on City winning 7-0 at 100/1 on Sunday and the ring them and say it was a technical glitch if I lose.

smells of a big cover up to me.

I wonder if its just the 28/1 price they are refunding and not paying on? or what about some folk who had been laying that horse at a dif price before all the mishap!

yeah you could say I only mean't to put £10 on it but I was overcome by a Harry Redknapp type twitch and hit the extra two zero's by accident, job done ;)
