At that age you should be out exploring the world instead of worrying about a career.
Go to interesting places and interesting things will happen.
Different strokes for different folks.

What's wrong with wanting to get a good career?

Nowt wrong with planning a career but in my experience most long term 'plans' go tits up for one reason or another.
I'm of the opinion that we should make the most of our youth and try and get some enjoyment and experience out of life while we can.
Working until retirement age then hoping to enjoy life when we're too old and decrepid to take advantage of all the free time seems back to front to me.

Yeah good shout. I didn't have a fucking clue what I wanted to do at that age (I still didn't when I left uni and started work in a call centre), yet I had a mate that left school at 16 to do an apprenticeship as an engineer in merchant Navy. We thought him fucking mad at the time. He is now 1st engineer on a super yacht owned by some bloke from Microsoft (think it's to do with Excel or something). The owner is only on board one month of the year and as he is away at sea, he doesn't pay UK tax. He's as happy as Larry and rich as hell. Lucky twat.
