when you become a registered nurse/midwife you become answerable to the nursing and midwifery council and agree to stand by the code set by them. one of the points of the
code is that a nurse/midwife should uphold the reputation of the profession. every nurse/midwife knows this when the register and they sign again annually to notify of intent to practice and to be bound by the rules of the NMC. she will have known all along that if she got found out she would be struck off the register so fair play in my eyes
