Big Fire in High Peak

Everyone, even the paper are saying it's hyperlast but it's stirling Lloyd, I got stuck in the mayhem as was driving home that way to hayfield just after the explosion and when the fire has taken hold. It is definately Stirling Lloyd, the raod are still closed and it still smells , hayfield is covered in a a sort of white foam so I feel sorry for all the people that live closer!

All the papers are saying this was the Hyperlast (old Kemira Polymers) Factory but it wasn't, it was stirling lloyd. I was driving home to Hayfield just after the expolsion and got stuck in all the traffic. The whole factory has burn't down, one of the main holding tanks exploded and all the chemical drums followed! No-one was working in SL but they were at Hyperlast and all their windows were blown out! Hayfield still smells acrid and is covered in a white snow like substance as we are only a mile away and the wind was blowing in this direction!

There's a massive fire about 3/4 of a mile from me in Birch Vale near New Mills, fire engines and ambulances been going past for about 30 minutes, apparently its a chemical factory near the Sycamore pub for those who know the area.

More to follow.........

That's about 2 miles from me, mate. Didn't see anything. Any more news?

Is it the factory at the side of Birch Vale reservoir? No there is cafe it is next. Its a hyperlast
when, the bag was Enormas, because i was in my porch wich i live behind it on the hill. Butt i counted about 13 fire trucks, there was people in there i think i'm not sure if there was RIP,

Had a nosey down there this evening. It's all blocked off with police tape and lots of signs saying 'beware of broken glass'. It stinks of burnt plastic and here are still fire engines and major incident vans around.

Never realised there were so many blues around my kneck of the woods, surely one of you could pick me up in New Mills for home games so I can save my petrol ;-)
