I didn't know he was ill until Friday last week.I done the stadium tour with my lads and the guy that showed us around said he wasn't too well.Did say anything else,just he was ill.

I know he's been suffering from dementia for some time. That's why he's in a care home.

He's in a care home somewhere just finished reading a biography on the great coach

Yep .... 82 years old now , and suffering from dementia ...... he's surely not got long now.

my nephew is the chef at the carehome in urmston where big mal is living.
mal is suffering badly with dementia, smokes like a chimney and when having moments of clarity loves talking about City (past and present).
the club have taken him to matches, when he's well enough, but kept him out of the limelight, and he still loves going apparantly.
the staff are great they won't allow him to be hassled and despite his condition he seems a happy and contented man.

That's right, his grandson works in our office believe it or not. He's in care either in Altrincham or Sale, suffers from memory problems, alzheimers I think, occasionally he thinks he is still the coach of our famous club but according to the lad at work he is bright and breezy. We sent him a card from the blues in the office for his 80th a fair while ago which we are told he was pretty pleased with.
