Big outlay a gift from the owners .......thanks Mr Sheikh

1) We know it is a long term prject

2) No doubt priority is the team if the team is sucessful more fans will want to see us play income streams increase.

3) If the project is based on 20 years all the players we have signed will be drawing pensions by the time the project is complete.

4) Even if the project is completed it means that the project as a whole would have to be at least self financing but expected to make profits.

5) The reason for the long term project the Country want to diversify away from oil income, by investing the money in hotels, leisure pursuits now it is hoped that these will provide income after the oil has gone.

6) If we are sucessful on the pitch CL may be forthcoming increasing revenue even further.

7) Further future profits from tv whether MCTV etc.

8) If sucessfull, buy the ground and associated land turn facilities into the best increase value to protfolio in case ever needed to sell.

9) By having sucessful club with large number of fans associated open shops, casinos etc to further boost income.

This is how I see it, definitely not in the know and a lot of the above assumptions and guesswork, don't see our owners doing a bunk leaving us in the lurch and effectively writing off a half billion pound investment.

Take a read of that Rags!

I have told you not to mock the afflicted, Wrighty, but you don't appear to be paying any attention.

I actually have to pinch myself sometimes that this is happening. Great time to be a blue, now to the nearest petrol station ; )
I've been considering pinching myself for the last year but haven't risked it yet, I might give it a go in a few years when we've won everything in sight :o)

OK, I'm probably going to be flamed here, especially since I'm new.

I work in Abu Dhabi, check my IP address if you don't believe me, and I was talking to an Emirati today at a major investment bank. This bloke is very high up the company.

He said that we're going to sign Messi and/or Fabregas in the next week to ten days!

However, he also said that DIC are looking to buy Man Utd in the next couple of years if the Dubai economy picks up. That's a big 'if', mind :D

Don't worry.. I believe you. ;)

Perhaps it's blarney, maybe it isn't. But one things for sure...Abu Dhabi has gone City mad. The Emirati executives I met today are right behind the project and see it as a) a source of pride, and b) stick two fingers up to Dubai :) With the new Etihad sponsorship, all the malls here ( shopping is the national sport here!) have City Etihad billboards EVERYWHERE. It really sticks in the throat of all the Man Utd 'fans' here who make up the majority of the expat (UK, SE Asia etc population)

They're not daft, these Emiratis. The Gulf is a major world aviation transit route. With City plastered everywhere, and featuring in all the in-flight mags etc, the club will have a global fanbase far bigger than that dodgy Russian achieved with his limited (lol) funds!

Great read that.

Except the embittered little after thought about "financial doping". Idiots. The club must sue. I am sending an email to suggest this.
