I think de Jong is quality but we can't play him,Barry and Ireland together against teams like utd,arsenal etc..we need someone to slow the game down and control it and none of the 3 can do this.

And anyone knocking johnno is an idiot with a short term memory as he was being touted as our next legend 2 years back and did control games..

We have moved on since Johnson last played. Johnson isn't going to get into that midfield before any that played today.

guys it became apparent today we have no holding midfielder.We played 2 defensive midfielders in Barry and De Jong.Neither can hold the ball for any period of time.

Ireland is an attacking mf in the gerrard role...he isnt Lampard or Scott parker for example.


This is why teams constantly have more possession than us.

Barry and De Jong are playing in the same role,and that needs changing.If De Jong plays def mid then Barry needs to be box to box leaving Ireland to pick them apart up front with quick passes.

i dont think theres a big problem anywhere with our team,big disapointment today but otherwise things are looking good. fullback positions still a cause for concern, micah still lacks concentration at vital moments , keep the faith lads our time will come!!!!!!
