Non-stop over excited drivel pouring out of his word hole, and needs half a dozen re-runs to spot anything. “Ooh, and was that handball there by Smith?”, about 5 minutes after everyone at home has already called it. He gets lauded as some sort of senior authority on the grounds of his longevity, but he’s only ever been useless and a total fucking irritant

For me, as far as football commentary goes, there is Before Motson (BM) and After Motson (AM). He marks the dividing line between insightful commentary and a stream of effluence. Every time he opens his mouth he simultaneously opens his bowels, a habit that seems to plague most commentary these days.The worst commentator of all time IMO.
