Pretty much all of them. Before the Sheik they were mostly indifferent to us, we were a mid-table (or even lower!) club with no apparent aspirations to challenge their darling cartel. But now we are a formidable opposition to anyone and we are gathering worldwide compliments for the way the club is being looked after. From corporate hospitality to the rejuvenation of the surrounding areas, the promoting of youth, the women's football, etc. Overall the club is making huge progress both on and off the field, we are -in short- an entirely different enterprise to the one under Swales and the like. A club going somewhere. Somewhere fit for the 21st Century.
Whilst over the road is a rotting and decomposing corpse that was once a football club, but is now a cadaver so rancid and foul-smelling that nobody wants to perform the last rites on it for fear of contamination. A club that not only flirted with the Devil but courted it, married it, became inseminated by it, and then gave birth to the grotesque myth of 'The U*ited Way'. That well-known work of fiction about a football club that rose like a phoenix from the ashes of Munich to become the all-conquering kings of the modern era. A 'People's Club' that epitomised the working class ethos of post-war England. A club for the community, a club built on integrity and honesty. In short, the biggest load of bare-faced lies and propaganda since the embryonic years of the Third Reich.
The sports journalists in this country are forced to perpetuate the 'The U*ited Way' myth because the club makes money, a lot of it. It is a 'name' club, a club where the football itself comes in as a poor second to the commercial aspirations of its owners.
Here endeth my rant.
