Biggest Summer in history?

We have to go big
Because the mad russian is going to give mourinho as much money as he likes,to get just about whoever he wants.

Who gives a shit what Mourinho gets... We already have one of the best squads in the league and we will be 3 years into growing our style of play.

I'd also add Monaco to that list too, their owner is in the top 100 worlds richest people and he'll spend, although with Monaco's ground capacity he'd have been better buying a different club ?

If Fernandinho's coming to City then we can forget Vidal, Gundogan, et al.

Any chance we can sign Cavani and Bale (or Reus) too. I wouldn't then be bothered if we sold Nasri, Tevez, Dzeko and Garcia/Sinclair.

All we'd then need would be a couple or three younger players to be able to step up when needed. Such as Marquinhos for defence. Benteke/Lukaku/Martinez for attack and a good prospect midfielder such as Kondogbia (?) or the like, we'd be set for years if true, and could then concentrate on sorting the academy to bring in the best young talent and try to get English players through it who could play like the Dortmund players did against Madrid.

Could be. If it's true that Mourinho is going back to Chelsea and Falcao going there as well. That means there could be 3 SERIOUS contenders for next seasons title, City included.

But if the Fernandinho thing is true, City are certainly not messing about. We need to get the deadwood out to make room for serious top class players.

We'll spend, Chelsea will spend, the rags will probably sign a class player.

Wenger might stop hiding the cheque book away.

Mourinho return at chelsea.

Tottenham possibly losing two of their better players.

Liverpool possibly losing suarez but with a bit of money to spend.

Yep... its shaping up to be an interesting summer.

Why would they do that when they have the 93 year old Giggs?

Monaco have a huge advantage they can spend half on wages for the same player as everyone else because of the tax regime

Everyone except Ferigie knows United need a world class midfielder and that has been obvious for the last 3 years, so let united buy another striker or winger if they want.

Chelsea do start to scare me a bit i must admit.

Agree.

Right now the French FA are trying to change rulings so that Monaco have to voluntary pay the same tax to make things fairer. Will be interesting to see how that pans out. I'd tell them to fuck off personally but saying that the French FA are within their rights to not sanction Monaco as they are an entity of their own and not part of France as such why should they be allowed to particpate in the league. If they want in then they pay their way is the logic being implemented, apparently.

hey guys I tried to start a new topic about what I'm about to say but I guess it wouldn't let me so I'll go ahead and say it in here because I haven't heard anyone mention this yet...

ARJEN ROBBEN

Apparently Guardiola (spelling?) doesn't want him playing for Bayern next year. For me, he's one of the top players in any position in the world. I'm sure he wouldn't be cheap but neither will Cavanni or whoever else we bring in.

We all know that City play VERY narrow and lack pace (which has been exposed in CL and domestically). Robben would not only remedy the lack of speed, but he can play wide on either side of the pitch. Besides Milner, who do City have that can threaten the opponents down the flanks? Sinclair? Yeah right, he'll be gone anyway. Not that Adam Johnson was a world class player but at the beginning of the championship season he certainly contributed but hes gone (not that I really miss him). Nasri and especially Silva are interior players who don't look comfortable nor trouble the opposition too much when playing out wide. They're both natural central middys. The majority of our wide attacking play this season came from Zabaletta makaing a run. This season there were a large handful of games where we lacked a plan B, when teams would drop back on us and we couldn't pass our way through them because we didn't spread them out.

...just some food for thought.

For us? Yeah. Few things absolutely safe from change.
Some players almost certain to leave and then you've the likes of Tévez and Barry who have been huge players for us over the past 4 years but, for different reasons, could leave.

Expect Chelsea and United to make at least one big signing too.
