The only thing Hicks really stood for was doing what you wanted with your life and not feeling enslaved to societies conventions of: house,wife,job, kids, dog, death, etc. I think he pretty much kept true to that. He did have a big TV appearance on Letterman but it was censored and never shown.

I'm not sure what your getting at but I don't think he ever made any real money. Even up to his death he was playing little crappy nightclubs in the southern US....he just roamed around doing what he enjoyed doing until he died.

I'm all for promoting the expanding of the mind via whatever means suits the person in question. Be it literature, poetry, art, music or drugs.

It's down to personal choice. I've experimented with drugs and continue to do so but I do it off my own back and irrespective of what Bill Hicks may have said. I'm also something of a culture buff too again off my own back and not down to wanting to emulate anyone.

If you get what you need from education and literature then more power to you! :) I personally am glad for the experiences I've had on acid/shrooms etc but I do understand it isn't for everyone and that some people should steer clear of such drugs.
