thought they couldn't get any lower than cheering when an opposition player was injured.

How fucking wrong was I.

Yaya injury cheered off at Klanfield. 2012 or 2014, can't remember. City win the league both seasons...that I do remember. The Premier League. That those sewer rats have never won. Gobshites.

I think what made this a million times worse is that Ederson had been sprawled out on the deck with the medical team all over him for 7 or 8 minutes before the booing started. That's bizarre.

I get that it's a big game between 2 teams where there's always going to be banter between both sets of fans and if it was as soon as it happened or after he'd got to his feet within 30 seconds as though nothing was wrong then by all means give him stick. I seem to remember a game just after the takeover at home to Liverpool where we squandered a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2, and Skrtel went down injured in the dying minutes. Straight away we were booing him but as he was at the other end of the pitch at the North Stand end - plus he'd karate kicked Jo in the back earlier - we had no idea it was serious (and weren't about to pause to find out) until he ended up down for a few minutes. That's when the reality took hold and the booing had long since stopped.

Compare and contrast the Liverpool fans booing Ederson today (and it wasn't all of them to be fair) to the Arsenal fans at the Emirates in 2010 when Shay Given suffered his injury. The Gooners come in for a lot of stick on here but the ovation Given got that day from their fans was enough to make the hairs stand up on the back of my neck.

I recall under Alan ball going to anfield midweek in league cup and losing 4 0, and then going back there in the league on the Saturday and losing 6 0. This today made up for it somewhat

I hated the red scouse more than united when I was a kid. All the pretend football fans at my primary school (in Stockport in the 80s) supported them.
So I love beating them. Just waiting for another at Anfield...it's been a while. Probably the one side against whom our record hasn't really improved much since the takeover.
