I no im going to get ridiculed for this ....

Currently sat in hospital in london..

Havent seen us play since i gave up my season ticket after the wigan cup final...

Mainly due to 1 thing . I have 0 mates that support city .

I used to go to games on my own, travel on my own and in then end it got a bit lonely .

I also stopped gping to away games down here as had a few things said to me for having a southern accent.. my dads family are from manchester ...

He told me when i was 5 red was banned from the hpuse and if i didnt support city i had to to to borstal

I no people are going to find this hysterical ,

But ive had a failed suicide attempt back in 2010, im back in the priory weekly and now have had my second major op in 12.weels and im only 43 ....

I want to get back to live games but i really dont want to go it alone .....

Laughs out the way but id appreciate some city mates ,,,,,

You're a blue so by definition you're not a saddo and neither should you be ridiculed. What a world where people feel like this surrounded by people ehh?

I travel alone to games but have been taken in by a bunch of blues and they have become my immediate blue family, I hope you still go to some matches mate we need every one of us and we don't want to lose any one of us too soon.

I hope your OP goes well mate, must be tough for you specially at this time of the year.

I’m very similar in that I live in Kent and for many years in my 20s I used to travel to most games on my own. However I have always found city fans some of the most friendliest and helpful people I’ve met.

There are even people on this board that I’ve met and gone to games with and even this week one has messaged me offering a ticket which was appreciated greatly.

Don’t give up and start seeing if you can go again. Even if it’s just to the pub to start with and meet fellow blues.
Where abouts in London are you based.
I work in London so I’m happy to try meet up if we can.

Maybe join a supporters club aswell.

Anyway feel free to private message me if you wish to but I guarantee you won’t feel alone at the match if you just say hi to people strike up conversations.

I get what you mean about being with people you know at the game
I nearly always travelled to the match on my own while I had a ST but I was sat with people who I'd built a relationship with over those years
The other week, the Leeds game, I was given a ticket, so travelled on my own, which I was always used to, but being sat amongst strangers added to a shit matchday experience

Hope you make a few connections Blue Moony. Just being around friendly people makes a huge difference.

I have "wish I wasn't here" thoughts many times. Some very dark and some just a nagging feeling. Only yesterday I felt that alone and dejected blanket creep over me and its very hard to shake it. But luckily I had a social basketball game last night and it was like a huge positivity boost. Just people acknowledging your existence and sharing the same experience. That said I have to have a thick skin in regards to being shit at basketball but even that can be a laugh. So I think I'm grand again.

I share this in hopes that it helps you or others by knowing that there are lots of us fighting the alone feelings.

It's hard sometimes but activities and social connections help massively. Best of luck blue!!!

As a bloke its quite hard to make new connections and friends especially when you reach a certain age as it can be seen as weird so good for you for speaking up and asking, blues always welcome for a chat.

Mate I'm in kent, thanet area.
Thankfully ive never had anyone say anything about my manc/kent accent and nor have my City mates in kent.

Have you thought of joining the kent supporters clubs ? Basically two clubs, east kent, West kent.

My group of mates have a WhatsApp group i can ask if there ok with you joining if you like.

Trying to get to games is awful at the moment. Trying to get games sat together is a nightmare and we dont intend going because of this season. We dont like being sat with strangers when we have travelled up from kent !

I think we can always find ourselves lonely.

I'm one who loves going out and meeting friends, especially at the game, but then as that day comes closer I start to find ways to not have to go.

I would definitely look out for a local City supporters club. They will be a great help.

There’s a good group of us who go in The Bulls Head opposite Piccadilly Station taxi rank, you’d be welcome to join us. We’re in there before every home game. Good group of lads, most a bit older than you. We also go to a few Euro aways each season.

This is where your mates start on here bud, we are mainly like minded souls and i have made a few mates on here myself, its nothing to be laughed at and you wont be, @halfcenturyup will talk for about half a billion hours about nowt in particular and @manimanc is a gobshite but a good lad all the same, as long as you dont expect him to get a round in @Blue Mist will defo be your friend and so will @snorky but never ever go back to his house.
