Probably one of the most despicable things I've ever seen at a football match that.

I've just checked and the maximum sentence for GBH is life imprisonment. Would probably have to prove intent for a sentence as strong as that to be handed out. Well after watching the footage, it would be harder not to prove intent IMO.

The vast majority of celebratory pitch invasions pass off entirely without incident though. Think of all the main ones at City games down the years - Charlton 1985, Wigan 1999, Blackburn 2000, QPR 2012, West Ham 2014, and Huddersfield 2018 - and I can't recall a single issue at any of those. There's also an argument that if thousands and thousands of fans are clamouring to get on the pitch, it's probably safer to just let them on rather than try and stop them.

That said, cunts like that last night need to be locked up for a long fucking time, and none of this 14 weeks bollocks like that twat who attacked Grealish during the Brum derby.
