Where does one get a hold of these special items, is it through the club or somewherelse.
If he/she has not yet been on the stadium tour. How about giving him/her that as a birthday gift. Maybe if you can afford it a match in one of the 93.20 or similar.
Ouch !I had a full set of programmes - home and away.- for 1965-66, 1966-67, 1967-68 and probably beyond. All nearly boxed up in a cabinet.
I went on holiday and my mother binned the lot.
It was a real trauma.Ouch !
It was a real trauma.
I went to every match in 1966-67 and virtually every match in the season before and after. I had problems with Cardiff and Norwich away for the promotion season. I eventually obtained one from the Cardiff match. Then I was talking to a mate - Mike Parker - who said he probable had a spare for Norwich. A week later he posted me an immaculate programme for the Norwich match to complete the set!
I used to buy two programmes for every match back then. One to keep and the other to dismember. The front page came off the away match programmes while the home ones had the voucher cut out. Both went in the sheet to ensure a cup final ticket.
I only used the voucher sheet twice. Once in 1969 for a cup final ticket and once in 1970 for a League cup final ticket but I collected them every season.
I had a season ticket for the 1974 League Cup Final while a friend kindly sorted me out in 1976. She also got me a ticket for the 1981 semifinal against Ipswich when I had left Manchester.
You got the York away programme?
