Bitcoin (cryptocurrency)

If anyone is only putting in a couple of hundred to trade for smaller coins I would stay away from Bitcoin as the transaction fees will kill the investment.

In the main you need one of Bitcoin,Ethereum or Litecoin to trade for Smaller coins but with time that should change.

Coinbase is where you change Pounds/Euros/Dollars for Bitcoin/Ethereum/Litecoin
Binance/Bittrex/Poloniex are exchanges where you trade for smaller coins.
Etoro could be wrong on this I think You don't own the Bitcoin/Ethereum/Litecoin you are just betting on the price movement.
Kracken not sure.

Thanks. That is really helpful.

My question is this....if you put £5k in Bitcoin and in 10years it's worth £500k....how you going to move it...basically who is going to buy it as surely everyone will be looking to sell, which to me says there will be more people looking to sell than there will be looking to buy, which means you could end up stuck with it
So on paper you've got £500k but can't cash in
Am I right in thinking this?

not all ISA pay less than inflation cash ISA maybe but shares ISA's are doing quite well
cash it to bank?

I’m thinking of investing a few hundred quid in TRON but when I check online how to buy it says I have to buy Bitcoins first then exchange them. Is there any other way of doing it to avoid those transaction fees?

Im not a financial advisor but i believe in the technology and the fact that banks, who run the world, wont want anyone messing that up for them. Im not saying that you're gonna make millions. But i beleive that the whole market will grow due to it becoming mainstream. With that come more money equals more profits. For those in early.

Also welcome aboard the crypto trai

Thanks. Typically, simce buying in Ripple has taken a bit of a twatting! Hopefully only a temporary dip.

Can change Ethereum for Tron on Binance.

https://coinmarketcap.com/

click on each individual coin then click markets, gives you where and what coins you can exchange.

Will warn you Tron has already 5x since New Year.

Cheers - I'm definitely going to hold as it sounds like it could really take off. Some were complaining on that Etoro site last night that Coinbase have no plans to add Ripple to their platform and that in turn will hit it's price but others, such as yourself, said it's potential growth is less to do with that and far more to do with which companies team up with them.

I used Etoro. It's a piece of piss - took about 10 minutes to sign up and buy into it. You're not exactly buying the coins as such - you're buying into the market at whatever the price is at the time.

I would buy from Coinbase, send to GDAX, then send to Binance. GDAX cuts out some fees.

Yes I looked at etoro but could not fathom the difference between that and the likes of coinbase etc

As a complete novice that has thrown me and do not even get me started on wallets.

It seems like you’ve gotta get in early to get ones that gain hugely. It’s mad that at one stage bitcoins were fractions of dollars each! I spent an hour last night looking into newer unusual ones like KIN.. then I realised I don’t have a clue what I’m doing, don’t think I’ll invest

They look like elaborate digital pyramid schemes.

That's because they're generally elaborate digital pyramid schemes whose price is supported entirely by consumer enthusiasm.

The technology here and the value of it is not reflected in the prices for all of these coins. When this wheel stops turning we're going to see a lot of people lose a lot of money very quickly.

Like today, the alts are getting dumped and everyone is jumping back on Bitcoin.

I think that's exactly what they are. Early investments a must, then the latecomers pay for the returns. Old trick with a techno spin.

Question people need too ask then is the party just getting started or is it already over?

My Personal opinion is crypto still has at least another 2 years of growth.
