Black Football Managers.

To be honest if they were good enough they would be interviewed for the job. Look at Paul Ince when he went to Blackburn. He took that job way too early and wasnt ready for it. Blackburn took a risk and it didnt pay off now Ince is trying to rebuild at Notts County not even in the level below the premier league. There hasnt been many in the league Jean Tigana when with Fulham was a decent manager for them. Now with certain players retiring maybe some might go into management in Sol Campbell and even Paddy V if he wanted to do it.

Why stop there , It's a disgrace no disabled , or women managers are out there , and don't get me started on the crass exclusion of the blind .

I've been voting for years for gypsies and dwarfs to be given a fair shot at management , but to deaf ears ....and don't talk to me about the deaf !!

Thought they went into refereeing..

Whats everyones take on this topic that is circling in the media at the minute. Its in the newspapers, TV, radio etc. Out of the 92 league teams only 2 managers are "black". Now they are saying they black managers dont get chances etc. Whats your opinion on this? Personally i think its a load of bollocks. If 2 candidates apply for a job, then it doesn't matter if they are black, white, pink, blue or fucking orange!!! The best man gets the job and im sure thats how it happens throughout football in the UK.
I agree. Why employ someone who might not be as good as someone else who has applied? Why employ someone just because he's black? I don't like this race card a lot of people use. Garth Crooks piped up during England's bid for the World Cup saying "there is a lack of black representation in the bid group!" No there wasn't Garth. Noone deserves representation just because they're a certain race. The best people for the job are given jobs. If the whole panel were black and they were all the best people for the job that would be right, I wouldn't pipe up and say "there isn't enough white representation in that panel!"

Fantastic Article by Martin Samuel:

An interesting bit near the end, which tells why Mancini shouldn't expect any praise, no matter how much success he brings us.

Mark Clattenburg is living proof of this.

Brilliant bit of writing that. The man always speaks the truth

Agree, top article. Interesting to read that Ian Wright was offered by the FA to fast track his coaching badges when they wanted him as part of the set up and he refused. Then moans about lack of black managers.
Same as Andy Cole. Moans about it and despite Ferguson telling him to take them he hasnt.

Its like me applying for an accountant job before i put myself through college to learn the profession. During college i know there would be no gaurantees of work.

I did like this comment though on the thread by Samual:
I think there are too many Scottish managers in the Premier League and not enough black ones. Therefore, I'd like to suggest that Sir Alex Ferguson be replaced as Man Utd boss by John Barnes. I am a Liverpool fan, by the way.

Interesting, too, that the LMA should be so staunchly behind this plan, when Arsene Wenger is the only foreign manager to be voted Manager of the Year. Jose Mourinho did not get it for back-to-back league titles, nor did Carlo Ancelotti for doing the Double in his first season in England. Maybe Labour MP George Wigg was right in 1949 when he argued that to some Conservatives ‘the wogs begin at Calais’.

Very interesting that.

Ian Wright made similar claims eight years ago. He said he had no chance of becoming England manager because of his colour. It transpired the Football Association were so keen to involve Wright in long-term strategy that they had made an offer to fast track him through their coaching courses. Naturally, he refused.
‘What’s the point?’ Wright asked. ‘I would never be allowed to get to the top as a coach. They didn’t give Brian Clough the job as England manager because he was too outspoken — I am outspoken and black.’ Not to mention unqualified, by choice.

What a hypocrite. Was this the same Ian Wright, who said he would rather watch England suffer with an Englishman, than succeed with a foreigner? The same Ian Wright accused of xenophobia/racism towards an African traffic warden?

You have to give Barnes special credit for not only being a shite manager but also a shite tv presenter as well. That what happens though when you start hiring folk to keep the pc brigade happy.
