Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale week

They're made by the same company! It's the Xbox it's all manufactured by Microsoft!? Not sure where this conspiracy came from?

It is, but that doesn't stop Microsoft using cheaper materials in the products they're going to sell off cheaper on Black Friday. Sure, it still works the same but it might not have the same longevity. No real bother on the satisfaction side either as the customer thinks 'it is broken, but I did buy it for next to nothing'.

No conspiracy - why would it make any sense for companies to sell off their premium stock at huge discounts just because it's Black Friday? Much better to keep a nice profit margin.

If they were going to do something like that then why not do it that way in the first place and just sell the "cheaply made" ones for £300+

Sorry but that theory makes no sense whatsoever.

Because if you've paid a premium for a dud product then you aren't going to buy that manufacturers products any more. If you pay a bargain price and it breaks, you're much less likely to give a damn.

Xbox and playstation are renowned for the red light or red ring of death yet people still buy them. You wouldn't know if it was a dud or not, unless it broke after a few weeks.

I'd hardly say they were renowned for it - that's just the classic error indicator. If they were renowned for it then they'd carry a bad reputation, like Skoda used to have in the car world. Plus, you can't measure at the individual level: a regular Xbox might have an average lifetime of 6 years whilst a BF one might have an average lifetime of 2 years, yet that doesn't mean a regular one wouldn't last 2 years or a BF one might not last 6.

All I'm saying is that expecting the highest quality from the stuff you're trampling over people to get to on Black Friday might not work out for you. That's not always bad either, but if you're looking for quality products then maybe suck it up and pay a little more. As with everything, you get what you pay for.

This is one big ploy to get rid of shit stock by the shops and loads of brain dead people fall for it. You twats.

From what I have witnessed that is generally true, but some retailers do offer some deals for quality products. Richer Sounds and John Lewis tend to have some good deals.

I managed to purchase some Phillips Hue lighting kit for half price. The sale only lasted a day on Amazon and then went back up to full price the following day. Same too for a kitchen sink tap that I have had my eye on for a while, where I saved around £100.

The only thing I am looking out for now is a good sim-free phone deal. Hopefully, I can get hold of the LG G4 for around £250.

Our fridge has packed in so i'm hoping to save a few quid on a new one.
Online only though, fuck going and pressing the flesh with the unwashed rabble

Did some xmas shopping in town today and there were some "Black Friday" sales going on. There were some decent offers, 30% off on main lines in House of Fraser and Urban Outfitters.
