Agree about the Lightpool festival...it should run the for the whole of the illuminations. Only problem would be that the Christmas by the Sea is in the same part of the Prom as most of it so a bit of a location rethink would be needed. Perhaps have Lightpool between the Lifeboat Station and Central Pier?Yeah as well as the Illuminations the Blackpool light show is on around the Central Carpet until the start of November.
Personally I'd have the displays up all the time the illuminations are on or at least until the Christmas by the Sea markets start late November.
Someone mentioned earlier in the thread about length of the Prom and run down hotels. True, the Prom is now too long for the amount of open hotels on it. Can't see how this can be solved without massive investment.
The town is really trying but it's a big job. New multiplex cinema and revamped conference centre is a start. More council offices now in centre of town are a boost to local businesses. Still loads of work to do which will take decades.

I have great memories of my childhood holidays in Blackpool which is probably why I like this song so much.
