Blackpool iluminations

Art goin t'thilluminations this year ?

I remember people saying this when i was a kid in Stalybridge :)

For some bizarre reason it's trendy to diss the place but deep down everyone really really loves it.

Hate the place with a passion - not going ever again if I can help it.

We are culturally attached to the place it's been part of the way we have gotten away as children, we have noticed the changes and in the main we don't like them but culturally it's still a part of us. I went there with the wife and grandchildren last year and will not be going back it's disappointing to say the least.

See for me I never need to go as my kids have grown up and I have no grandchildren so if I go the coast, which everyone needs to do from time to time as there is nowt better than chilling out on the seafront, I can avoid the place and visit less family focused places.

tbf I prefer southport to blackpool, even as a kid, but the amount of scousers there is grating so don't really visit.

When it comes to blackpool it's better than Morcombe, that is a real shithole
