stop trying to blame things like the south stand, the nu stadium, style of football blah blah for the atmosphere. The atmosphere is because of YOU, the sad miserble fuckers that moan and sigh all the fucking time because there fkin WOMEN! BIG FAT OLD MEN WHO ARE WOMEN

lol........true

main problem is the high turnover of managers/players = no songs, as soon as we get a song the players off somewhere else.

No new song about our current stadium...get writing.

Its down to them team performance i dont mean results but performances if the team play a exciting attacking up and at em type of game the fans get out of thier seats if its a dour boring chess match the ground is silent

Fans make the atmosphere, and last night there was just too much tension.

There's many problems, yours IS one, but there are others, one of them is that our home support has been overrated due to the carry over from Maine Road.

I blame the North Stand of which Im a member.

There are at least three quarters of the fans who usually sit there who say NOTHING, almost every game. I heard someone complaining that someone shouted too loud behind them against Everton, seriously!

It's about time every fan took a look at themselves and started asking themselves how they support city.

Come on for god's sake, support your team. It's not good enough to just turn up and sit there.

it is a point. there are a lot of people who dont care about the atmosphere. more than you think. thats why it fails. nothing to do with the gap between fans. the only reason we have atmosphere is banter with opposing fans. which is why when there is a shit turn out from the away support its a shit atmosphere. move our fans to one end and it will go even more downhill imo.

@ryan: yeah im just stating a point, thought some people need to here it haha, not that alot of people will read this

-- Tue Mar 30, 2010 6:34 pm --

@ davy. yeah ive started just shouting and singing loads with my mate, starting to get people around us engaged aswell lol, thats all it takes certain people to show people how to do it lol

I constantly hear comments like this about the north stand but having sat there since we moved i have never once witnessed anyone be told to stop shouting or stop singing granted people dont always join in but never do they stop others singing either

Agreed.

Loads of people just prefer abusing the players. Fella' next to me spent all game going 'this is a disgrace', it's a joke etc, etc. We've been through so many players and managers without any sucess yet half the crowd want to fuck them off after one miss-placed pass.

Guess it's partly a result of players earning millions that people don't want to have sympathy for a player in bad form who's having a bad day. The media (Sky especially) have conned people in to believing that football is all 30 yard wonder goals and brilliant football when infact it's mostly tight games which are hard fought. A lot of our fans are behaving as if it's a personal afront if City don't hammer lesser opposition every week.

Sorry Pal but I have no reason to lie.

The game was Everton. The exact words were 'do you want to shout a bit louder as you've nearly moved my ear wax.' The other guy replied that it was a football match and whilst he didnt shout other people did.

There are probably people who come on here who heard that exchange.

This is spot on. The cumulative effect of all these morons is that after about 20 minutes there is tense atmosphere in the stadium if we are not winning and this transfers to fear in most players. Opposing managers have played on it for years and this false expectation is the reason IMO that we have underachieved for so long.

Do these people know this, come on explain yourselves, is there something really unhappy in your lives? Do you realise that you piss off everyone else?
