I’ve got one ready, was only going to give way to someone if they had a new year related one
I can always rustle up a playlist at short notice.

For the January round, if it is meant to be my turn to help, looking at the names left does the below work for everyone? Just trying to give folk enough time, might already be cutting it fine, busy period and all.
2nd @journolud
9th @mancity2012_eamo
16th @stonerblue
23rd @Saddleworth2
30th @threespires
Any issues just say, and will swap with others on the list.
@RobMCFC you'd still need to change thread titles and update your port in page 1 when the time is right, if that's ok.
@GornikDaze, you want your name added to the list of contributers to have a round at some point?
Edit, if anyone has got a particular week in mind by the way, speak up. Including other posters not listed above. I.e starting the new year with a bang, rabbie burns' week (currently sitting with saddles) are two that come to mind, or any other reason really.
I enjoyed listening to this, especially the folkiness of the third track. Karine Polwart has a decent voice and all of the songs were atmospheric in a good way.
I whiled away some of my night shift last night watching the YouTube videos of these tracks, as well as exploring a bit more of her stuff. You’re right in that the first track does take a bit more effort I think but watching it as well as listening is rewarding. It’s the reason I like sitting above an orchestra watching how a piece is put together. There’s some subtlety to the first track that rewards repeated playsYou are the second, of the two or maybe three that have listened to this, that pointed out the third track standing out. For me it is the first one, easily. Maybe gets a bit more to get into.
Also, for me her voice is probably the least appealing thing about her work that I like. Always interesting seeing different takes.

I listened a few times.
It’s pleasant enough.
What I really liked, again, was the stuff that came on afterwards.
I was getting all sorts of folk songs that I hadn’t heard in years.
There was someone on at one stage doing a version of ‘ the shoals of herring’. That took me way way back.
Great voice. That's more down to you than me or this set.
I did think you would have been right in there to point out the Irish connections though.
