I think our very own Gary James was hearing things in 89, not everything Gary says is gospel you know!! I'd say it was 97ish.

I suppose some clubs have had anthems from the 60s I'd say those songs belong to the clubs, I've just never liked the song.

Deffo Anfield first game of the season as GJ says, I was on the edge of the people signing it in the Anfield Rd End.

Problem with Blue Moon in my opinion is that for it to sound good, you need as much of the stadium as possible to sing it. For some reason as the years have progressed, the instances of the whole stadium all singing at the same time have diminished to pretty much never. Even the first few years at the Etihad most games there'd be at least 1 song which would go round the stadium, whether it be 'stand up if you...', invisible man, blue moon etc.
