Prawns are a great bait for carp barbel and chub. Tench love mussels. Try swan mussels if you can get any, they are a really good bait. Carp love them too.
Halibut pellets are also worth considering. Tight lines.

Still worth catching though. Been a while since my last tench of that size.no record breakers a few pound , I only weighed the biggest tench and that was 2 and half
I'm heading up to a small Island off Kodiak at the end of August, can't waitWent out to the lake yesterday afternoon for a couple of hours. Had had storms all morning so expected em to bite good after and they did. Caught several nice smallmouth bass.
Stepson is currently in Alaska, he tries to get up there once a year. Seems a very successful trip so far, caught some nice Salmon.

Had 4 hours on the Wye on snorky's patch earlier, wasn't confident as river had 2 foot of coloured water on it since yesterday and it was pulling through. Fishing was rock hard. One bite only and judging by the bite and way it fought it felt like a big chub. Was playing it in nicely and it got me in streamer weed and shook it's head for me to lose ijt due to using a barbless hook. Funny thing was Snorky had a decent barbel on at same time as me and lost his fish within 20 seconds of me losing mine.
