thats some place/palace. Are you going after anything with a fly rod mate?

My mate is the fly fisherman and the answer is yes, but without any success so far. He claims he's brought the wrong flies (that old one). There are bass and mullet aplenty and he's tried for carp but it is fiendishly hot and we're really hunkering down trying to stay out of it.

Heading back to the Algarve tomorrow for some rest and recuperation.

A1 pits pal. Really good stretch of the Trent here. I almost went on a well known stretch called Bob's island, Newark but decided to opt for here as I'm fishing a deep hole. My theory is as the nights get colder the fish will move into the deeper water.

After a poor 3 months on natural waters, succumbed to a carp puddle today (quite a nice one in the countryside). Prawn and bread brought 30 or so fish upto 10lb so a nice day. Having a day off work tomorrow and going back with a few mates. Going to hobble to bed now, ouch my back, sat on a seatbox hauling carp for several hours!

I had a perch of a pound last night in a quick hour out. Had two similar sized last Sunday., all on jigs.

I had 20 perch yesterday with a combined weight of about a pound :-)

I had a few bream, an ide and a few small carp too mate, so not a bad day really. Oh and a Barbel of about 2lb. :-)

Sounds very much like good angling to me.
It's not always about size, as I've frequently told my ex girlfriends ;-)

I had another barbel of similar size(9lb) at 01:40 this morning. No runs since. I'm not too optimistic because it badly needs water in. Level has dropped about 18" since last week. If I get a bite I'm hoping it's a big un. Double 18mm boilie should see the nuisance 1 bleep bream off, hopefully.

Decided to try a bit of sea fishing for a change of scene and amused the locals by catching this mullet on freelined floating crust.
