Update. The plane taking us off the island developed a fault. We've missed all our comnections now. We're staying another night. Hate to think how many thousands it's going to cost us to get new flights and expect we have lost our extra leg-room seats.

Nightmare mate. Hope its not too costly.

Spinning for mackerel and pollock off the rocks is good fun.
Fresh mackerel are a great scoff too!

The world's your oyster then.
Beach caster rod and set up for the shore...£50 off ebay
Spinning rod for the rocks, jetty or pier
or....get a little boat, decent outboard and auxiliary, small fish finder for just off the shore.
Loads of tutorials on youtube....Happy days

That's the idea. So spinning reel? What type of rod - line - lure/bait?

Spinning rod 8 ft or their abouts, 10lb line should suffice and a selection of pre weighted lures 30 gram or similar. Your local tackle shop should help you.

Brilliant photo. So thats quite close to a big drop off in depth. Is that why you were targeting that area?

Give us a report. I've always wanted to fish for bonefish in that sort of setting.

I'll do an in-depth report in a couple of days. Only got home last night, £1850 poorer, and couldn't log onto my work laptop as I've forgotten it. Means I have a self-inflicted five hour round trip to the office in Manchester to get it unlocked.on the train now. What a nob !

I had the pleasure of fishing for bonefish in Tobago many moons ago. Fantastic fun, and they don't half pull!

Only a few days till I am off to the Royal Dee.
Can't wait. Just got a new Rio line in the post off ebay ready for the season...95 fuckin quid!
