Bluemoon criticism - slagging off old great city teams?

Buzzer would probably have been critisized for his lack of goals after all the good work he did down the flanks, all his assits would of course have been ignored. Colin Bell would have got the "injury prone" bollox and Big Joe would have been considered too fat and out of shape.

All complete bollox of course like the majority of the critisisms we see today !

Dopey Joe wasn't very good at the 1 to 1s, being to slow to get down to block the striker

2nd most appearances for the club, 3 times player of the year and twatted Jimmy Bullard for being a prick, how very dare you speak out against Big Joe ;o)

Wasn't he joking? Corrigan was the best keeper I've seen in a 1 v 1 situation

Big Joe was a total arse of a keeper when he first started - A disaster waiting to happen. If you'd told me he was going to be half as good as he became, and would play so many games for City and England, I'd have said you were f*ckin mental.

If t'interweb had been around in those days, he'd probably have given up with the amount of extra shit he'd have got.

All the 68 - 72 players took a lot of shit - even Colin Bell on the odd occasion. The difference is that the modern-day overpaid prima donnas believe the hype that's written about them and cry to their agents. Most wouldn't have lasted ten minutes playing football against real men.

Imagine Mike Doyle complaining he hadn't got a birthday cake.

Corrigan when he was a kid:-
As fond of crosses as Dracula. FFS will he ever catch one? They told us this lad would play for England ... no fucking chance.

Stan Bowles:-
Total chav. Just get rid of him. He's shit anyway.

Ian Bowyer:-
Second division player at best. Will never be good enough for a decent team.

Colin Bell when he first signed:-
This kid might have been good enough for Bury but he's not a First Division player. What did Allison see in him?
Colin Bell later:-
Great player on his day but fucking inconsistent.

Of course both Joe & Stan did play for England although Stan only a long time after we had kicked him out of the club.
Ian Bowyer, the boo boys favourite target, went on to win the league & a couple of European Cups with Forest.
And Colin Bell ... they named a stand after him.

Well said Nixon. Joe was my favourite player as a kid.

If only Joe could have improved on the 1 to 1s he would have kept Shilts and Clemence on the England bench.

Images from 1981 cup final REPLAY, and every television cup programme since then coming to mind. I can't even begin to imagine the meltdown that would have followed the game V West Ham when his goal kick was volleyed back over him as he walked back not looking at the ball. However, still one of our great keepers who would have won more England caps had he had not such intense competition for the England Keepers spot.
