I used to have lessons but now im just teaching myself. Im just wondering if anyone who has taught themselves has any tips of how to go about this? Is it just a matter of learning current songs and then try and build on that?

I taught myself.
Just download all the chords and tabs of your favourite songs. Then add Youtube of your favourite artists playing said songs and add hundreds of hours locked in your room practising = Guitar Hero!

Much better to do the hard hours in your youff.

i taught myself. might seem obvious but just play songs you like and build on it.

also, if you are trying to play a tricky part play it really slowly at first and gradually build up speed

this site is brilliant for looking up songs to learn how to play them

If you want tab , try searching for .pdf rather than for tab .

Good site here for your backing tracks too :

Have fun .
