We had shit bad luck today...
What utter bollox. I've never posted this before but I'm just back from Sunderland and am still annoyed about our performance, as was every other City fan up there I spoke to, so think its about time people knew. When we had that run of draws under Hughes, he was at the regular strategy meeting he had with the senior management team. He was asked by Cook what he planned to do in order to change things and turn it round. He said he didn't really plan to do anything as we'd just been a bit unlucky. And that statement earned him his P45. Our owner and executive management don't believe in "bad luck", certainly not on anything other than a very occasional basis.

They might even feel that we've actually had some luck on our side as we could very easily have conceded a penalty against Reading or had the goal disallowed. Ba could have scored with that second chance he skied and Santon might have cleared Garcia's header for the second goal. They might feel that our goalkeeper hasn't been unlucky but in fact needs a big kick up his extremely complacent arse. They might feel that our attacking players haven't been a bit unlucky but in fact are quite content playing a safe pass instead of taking some responsibility for opening up an opposition defence.

They might even feel that a manager who very nearly threw away the title last season and whose team was humiliated by an Ajax team that cost less than Vincent Kompany wasn't unlucky but actually wasn't that good.

So don't give me that shit about bad luck.

Perhaps today's performance might be the kick up the back side the team needs, of course teams are going to play a defensive game against us, and up their game it's to be expected no one is going to roll over, but we need some urgency about our game and some better bloody tactics.

Lets see how the next few games pan out

You've not explained why child and smacks may not appear in the same sentence.

Oh and "boooooo".

kid yourself, don't you ?
Why would I have to explain myself to the likes of you ?
You don't, but you did get all precious when I agreed with a couple of other posters that your "heartfelt" post was reactionary shite. Grow up.

Excellent post.

Having a bit too much of this "bad luck" as you call it,but I agree we have a jinx at SOL as well as Goodison, were we still have to go,as for not being overly concerned of our season...........I fucking am

And for the record I do class myself as a seasoned supporter

It's worrying because , in my opinion, really top teams don't have 'jinx' grounds or 'bad luck'
Mancini is now blaming the ref, when in reality the whole team seemed to stop and wait for the foul to be given. Top managers don't do that. Top teams don't do that

Poor attitude is what it's down too because we have the talent
Top managers don't blame the ref?

Well you'd best tell Ferguson and Jose that.

-- Thu Dec 27, 2012 8:42 am --

I also agree with this.

At the moment Manchester United are better than us but hopefully that won't be the case in May.

I don't believe they are. We were the better team for most of the derby and we battered Sunderland today whilst they struggled against a poor Newcastle team. Results don't always go the way they should but, as you say, by May the right balance will hopefully be restored.
At the moment united are clearly the better "team", and no matter how much spin is put on both sides, that 7 point gap proves it.

We didn't batter Sunderland at all, we had chances yes, mostly half chances, and we failed to score any. Sunderland had the better chances, and scored with one. I only listened to the radio commentary, but it was clear from that we weren't going to score in the second half, and had a couple of Sunderland players had their shooting boots on, it could have been worse.

United on the other hand kept fighting (and Newcastle are far better than Sunderland imho, especially going forward), and while they may have been lucky to get three points (it could have been 6-6) they are playing for each other, and will continue to grind out victories more than we do.

just about sums it up I reckon, the main difference is Utd have natural width and use it to great effect going forward, they'll go at you from the flanks which leaves space in the middle for players to operate. Nobody will tell me their squad is better than ours individually based, but its got more options than ours

Might as well have this thread here for all the suicidal blues and their post match woe - it also saves the rags from popping back to their cafe.

It is a forum and people will react with emotion after a win, draw or defeat. If you are chasing the title then only a win is a good result. It's also in the middle of the season and nobody knows how the season will turn out so waiting until the end of the season to decide we should change something is not an option. Personally, I don't think being annoyed after a defeat is a bad thing. Healthy I would call it. At the very least it lets everyone know the expectation.

Correct. I really don't get all the moaning about people moaning. We're not playing well, we're slipping behind in the title race, what do people expect to see on a City fans Forum?

If you think they're "fantastic" then yeah probably, each to their own though.

I just said they were (are) better than the Sunderland team that beat us yesterday, its not exactly the greatest compliment on recent form.....
