Bluemoon Rising Film

Just seen it in Wigan, good film, last season sums up what you are in for as a blue, great highs and real lows. One fan comming out at the end said "good film but its a pity it has a sad end". I see last season as the start, not the end.

At empire mate? I was there as well, De Jong shirt lol.

Aye, I was there too, saw you in the De jong. Like a previous poster, I left a bit down. Too much about the semi and the depression aspects of that and Spurs. As a blue, to me it's allways being about having a bit of a sulk then laughing in the face of adversity, followed by bringing on the next challenge. I know they tried to do this in a small way at the end but the low was too low (in my opinion). Having said all that, they majority of it left me elated and proud to be blue.

does anyone know any songs off the movie need the ones off the chelsea penalty save and arsenal adebayor part cheers!

Saw the film last night.

Found it to be quite a painful experience.

The last half hour focused on the Semi 2nd leg and the Spurs defeat. Lots of pre-match interviews with fans about how important these games were, followed by slow motion shots of Shrek & Crouch celebrating their goals. Ouch.

The first hour was Ok, but surely there were better stories to re-tell than eating pork pies during the 81 Cup run, and a young girl and father being banished to the garden by an abusive brother during the '99 playoff.

Frequent references to the 34 years and that banner play up to the Utd superiority, rather than form the basis of a launchpad of future City success. Let's refer to the 34, 35 or whatever years when we've finally won something.

When Bernard Halford starts discussing future City trophies while holding up an ornamental cow in the City trophy room, I began to wonder whether this film was actually funded by them.

Self-deprecating humour is all and well, but this film needed to hold up a banner telling me when to laugh.

Found the full list of cinema showing the film, really disappointed that there isn't one in Scotland but I'm not suprised. They show awful foreign films all the time so thought there was a chance of it on a smaller screen. :(

Here's the list of cinema showing it for future reference:

Saw it last night in Birmingham with about 10 other blues, not many considering I know about 20 blues in the area. Firstly let me say that I thought it was very well put together, beautiful shots and sequences throughout. Although after the opening titles I began to dispair as it seemed we were going down the Guy Ritchie route with the freeze frame of the main characters with a caption a nicknames like "pretty boy", thankfully we didn't.

I really enjoyed the personal stories documenting important games through our history, in particular the overhead kick with the socks. They couldn't have picked more die hard blues to follow around last season and the highs and lows are exacibated through their passion.

It was evident that they only had the film cameras at certain big games so the match action and the story does centre around them. The sequences around Adebayor scoring against Arsenal and Tevez winding up Fergie and Neville were particulary satisfying as a blue and had me in stitches.

The overall hightlight for me though was Mancini and his English tutor:

"You be Gareth Barry"

Absolutley priceless!!

Ha ha! I forgot about that! That was hillarious! I know why they never used that in the trailers, because it's one of the best bits (apart from the millisecond shot of my hand stirring coffee)
