blues in timisoara

The one with the fancy roof looks like a nice big bar to me. I looked on multimaps and there is a square on there with all tables and chairs outside, so is this the right square? I'll find a suitable watering hole somewhere & with prices between 50p & a quid it will keep me happy for three days.

thanks CinX you seem to promote the city quite well, do you work in the tourism industry... i like the picture with the Ursurs beer on..what does that taste like is it a local lager or paint stripper

Same here, just too expensive for me at the minute, I just hope we get through and get some decent trips at the group stage.

What about the student quarter? I've heard there are some good bars around here & a good atmosphere. Is it better then the town centre?

Both squares have nice terraces. And they are also near from each other. If you go the Alba Iulia street after Victory Sqaure, you get to the Liberty Square, and if you walk further, you get to Unirii Square.

Not saying I wouldn't join you, I'm not sure, when I get off from work :-).

I don't work in tourism, I'm a software developer and a local guy. Ursus is actually from Cluj-Napoca, another city, but it bought our local beer 'Timisoreana', which is still available. I'm not really a beer expert, I would say the unfiltered one, if you can find it, tastes nice.

About tourism, it's kinda sad, because our country has many nice places, but we don't know to promote it. The guys from Top Gear did more promotion in the first episode of the last episode.

Student quarter is OK too, but it's vacation now, so not so animated now.
