Bobby Madley

We all know how secretive the likes of FIFA and UEFA are. You could probably get into GCHQ easier then getting into FIFA HQ. I'm sure the PiGMOL are similar. Their legal team must have their NDA's water tight.

Whatever has gone on here you won't hear it from Madley, unless he somehow grows a pair.

Of course, there is another possibility. He could have been "asked*" to influence the outcome of a game, but royally f**ked up, and ended up costing someone (Eastern European/Far East betting syndicate) a lot of money. If this is the case, he'll probably have a lot more than an NDA to worry about.

Pretty sure his contract would have had terms relating to bringing the fa/prem into disrepute...and he would be paid,as an elite ref to observe this so if he was making fun of disabled people(and i dont think this is why he left) id say this would def come within the realms of gross misconduct, and given the attempts made by the prem league to support minority groups...inc disabled fans and referees...id say thats not just a 'dodgy joke' ...that goes against everything the prem stand for and undermines a lot of hard work.
To breach a term as outlined above, would, imo be enforceable and is a world apart from 'if one tells u to stand on your head'

Glen hoddle didnt last very long when he mispoke about the disabled a a few years back..

Yes, but that's the point. Wanting shot of him for doing it is not the same as "gross misconduct". Hoddle wasn't sacked either, there was a "mutual agreement". It's how it works when you want to get rid of someone but can't legally make firing them stick.

This explanation of him resigning seems more plauseable but i do prefer to think of him fucking a dog :)

Don’t you believe it? :-)

Compare and contrast with another former employee of PGMOL.

- two failed businesses leading to alleged debts of £60,000
- sacked from his job as a referee
- reinstated, but suspended for eight months on appeal for issues relating to his private and business affairs
- faced newspaper reports that the suspension was for gambling, domestic violence and drug taking
- faced allegations of racially abusing a black player during a Prem game
- showed bias against a Prem player, asking his manager and coaches how they worked with one of their players all week, having just dismissed him for a second yellow card
- favoured one team in a local Prem derby by sending off an opponent after the captain had given his opinion, while showing leniency towards the other team for similar offences
- admitted allowing a Prem team to 'self-destruct' in order to protect his own reputation
- faced a one week suspension as he breached his own association's rules by traveling alone to a game, in order to get a quick getaway so he could attend a music concert
- phoned a Premier League manager after a game to explain certain decisions (beach of rule)
- is seen on worldwide television laughing and joking with a representative of a team he is about to officiate in an important cup final, before going on to favour that team with a number of decisions

And despite all of this, he survives, eventually leaving of his own accord to be referee supremo in another country.

Yet one social media indiscretion by Madley, and it's curtains. Something not quite right here.

One of them knows where the bodies are buried?

I agree. And at the same time Clattenburg was sacked/reinstated, Mike Riley went to PGMOL (to Keith Hackett's surprise as he had no intention of retiring), Rob Styles resigned and Steve Bennett announced he'd be moving to the ECB. Quite what his qualification was for that I'm not sure but it's very odd that 4 "top" referees all disappeared at the same time.

Don’t know who to feel more sorry for: the teams of the Norwegian Eliteserien or all those Norwegian Elkhounds.

Thought that was Chris Foy who was the ref, if we're talking about the 3-2 home defeat by the rags.
